Auto transport – also called a delivery vehicle – is the process of moving or transporting vehicles from a point source to the destination point. Point source does not necessarily mean your home, and so is the destination point referring to a new home or vacation home. You can move the vehicle from anywhere to anywhere.

Transporting a vehicle is not a regular task. A special truck is usually required. This is the reason why companies move most are not included in the list of cars to transport their services. Often, an 8 – or 10-car transporter truck – the same type of trucks used to transport new vehicles to vehicle dealers – used to move your vehicle. This is often an open truck that measure 75-80 feet long and fourteen feet. But if you’re not sure that the truck can transport your vehicle safely, you can opt for a closed truck. This will cost more, however.

So if you plan to move in the near future and you want to bring your vehicle with you, you better start looking for an auto transport company now. Automatic transport companies usually require two to three weeks before the date of your choice of transportation allowances. They use the time to schedule your vehicle transport correctly. If you do not have extra time, however, you can always ask for the direct transport, although there is no guarantee that your request will be granted.
